Our Story

How Elm Home Care was built

Elm Home Care was co-founded by Dr. Ross Kopelman and Louis, a home care aide who provided extraordinary, dedicated care to Dr. Kopelman's 99-year-old grandmother for years.

Dr. Kopelman watched Louis work up close, day after day. The patience he showed, the consistency he maintained, the way he treated Dr. Kopelman’s grandmother not as a patient but as a person deserving of full dignity and genuine warmth. That experience made clear just how rare truly great home care is, and exactly what it looks like when it is done right.

Together, Dr. Kopelman and Louis understood the diligence, the character, and the preparation it takes to provide excellent in-home care. So they built Elm: an agency where every aide is specifically trained, personally vetted, and fully ready before they ever walk into someone’s home. Not just available. Prepared.

Operating from our office at 17 Lane Drive, Englewood, NJ, we serve older adults and people who need support with daily living across Bergen County and Northern New Jersey. Non-medical, private pay, and built on the belief that high-end home care hould be the standard, not the exception.

Louis spent years perfecting the art of in-home care for Dr. Kopelman's grandmother. That experience became the blueprint for every Elm aide we train and place today.
