Live-In Care: What Families Ask Us

What living arrangements does the aide need?

The aide needs a private bedroom and access to a bathroom. They are entitled to uninterrupted rest periods when the client does not require active assistance, typically around eight hours in a 24-hour period. We walk through this together during the initial consultation.

How is time off handled for the live-in aide?

Live-in aides typically work a rotating schedule, for example four days on and three days off, with a vetted relief aide covering the days off. We coordinate this in advance and introduce relief aides to the client before they ever work solo.

What if the placement is not working?

We address concerns quickly. If a placement is not the right fit, we work with the family to understand why and identify a better match. Getting to a stable, positive arrangement is our responsibility, and we take it seriously.
